DIICOT prosecutors are investigating five legal entities, including an international transport company, in a case concerning the formation of an organized criminal group and the continued trafficking of high-risk and low-risk drugs. The companies allegedly were used to create the appearance of legal commercial shipments, in which drugs brought from Spain to several European countries were allegedly concealed.

According to DIICOT, criminal proceedings against the five companies were ordered on September 2 and 3, 2026. The group allegedly was formed starting in September 2023 by four men and a transport company, and was later joined by Romanian and foreign citizens, as well as other commercial companies.

The shipments allegedly were organized using tractors and semi-trailers, also loaded with goods obtained through international freight exchanges. The drugs, ordered by Albanian traffickers, allegedly included cannabis resin, cannabis and cocaine. In four shipments, 1,719 kilograms of drugs were seized, valued at approximately 9.6 million euros wholesale and 25 million euros retail.

The investigation benefited from the cooperation of the authorities in France, Spain, Italy and Germany, as well as Eurojust and Europol. DIICOT asked the Bucharest Tribunal to impose preventive measures on the companies, including blocking their dissolution, liquidation, merger and disposal of assets, as well as suspending their road freight transport activities for 60 days.その? too?
