DIICOT prosecutors will contest the decision of the Bucharest Tribunal under which Viorel Pașca, his wife, and their three sons were placed under judicial control in the case of unauthorized shelters, which includes accusations of human trafficking in an ongoing form.
DIICOT requests preventive arrest for 30 days, arguing that a more severe measure is necessary. The appeal will be judged at the Bucharest Court of Appeal.
The group, active since 2020, allegedly misled donors and authorities, obtaining funds from donations and social services, while the victims, brought from hospitals and care centers, were kept in inadequate conditions.
