In a press conference, the Minister of Environment, Diana Buzoianu, stated that in the last ten years, the authorities have issued approximately 1,200 permits for the establishment of fish ponds, but only about 102 of these have actually been implemented on the ground, according to data presented on Friday.

Diana Buzoianu criticized the fact that the majority of permits were obtained by construction companies interested in access to mineral aggregates, but the works were not completed, leaving behind craters and abandoned extraction points that endanger the soil and groundwater. The Minister mentioned the risks of these extractions and the intention to amend the legislation to limit the extensions of permits and thus prevent such situations in the future.
