The US Army has raised the security level at the Deveselu Base to 'BRAVO' due to tensions between the US and Iran.

The Deveselu Base has been placed on alert status 'BRAVO' by the U.S. Army, in response to the escalation of tensions between the United States and Israel, on one side, and Iran, on the other. This measure is similar to those applied at all American bases worldwide, considering the risks generated by the conflict in the Middle East. The Deveselu shield, part of NATO's missile defense network, can detect and intercept ballistic missiles from outside the Euro-Atlantic space, being located 2,500 kilometers from Iran.

General (r) Mircea Mândrescu explained that the 'BRAVO' level indicates an increased but predictable threat, which necessitates additional security measures, such as increasing guards and stricter controls. Although the alert has been raised, Romanian authorities have assured that there is no direct military threat to the country, constantly monitoring the situation. The Romanian Army maintains active forces for monitoring various environments, ensuring immediate response to threats. Romania's positioning provides a strategic advantage in intercepting missiles from unstable regions, thus contributing to NATO's collective security. The 'BRAVO' level entails additional controls and preventive measures, without creating panic, adjusting according to the evolution of the security situation.
