Heavy floods have hit four Romanian counties, with the death toll rising to 6 and one person still missing.

Floods have affected dozens of localities in Iasi, Galati, Timis and Vaslui counties. The worst was in the county of Galati, where dozens of people were rescued from the floodwaters. Firefighters also intervened in Iași, Timiș and Vaslui, where several households were affected. Evacuations and interventions continue and the authorities are on alert to manage the situation.
