On the night from Saturday to Sunday, a strong fire broke out in the locality of Slatina-Timiș, Caraș-Severin County, affecting three homes and threatening a fourth nearby household. Military firefighters intervened promptly, mobilizing four fire trucks and an SMURD ambulance. Upon the arrival of the crews, the fire was spreading over an area of approximately 950 square meters, but fortunately, no casualties were reported.
The intervention lasted about four hours, during which the firefighters managed to prevent the spread of the flames. The damages are significant: at the first home, the roof and several rooms were destroyed, and about 70 backyard birds perished. At the second home, the roof burned over an area of 300 square meters, but a tractor and a trailer were saved. The third home was left without a roof over an area of 50 square meters. The probable cause of the fire was a short circuit.
