The firefighters from ISU Bucharest-Ilfov were called on Sunday morning to intervene to extinguish a fire that broke out at several adjoining buildings on Pereni Street, in Sector 5 of the Capital.
The fire spread rapidly due to the weather conditions and the placement of the adjoining homes, affecting a block of houses over an area of approximately 800 square meters. Due to the dense smoke, the authorities issued a RO-ALERT message for people in the area. Upon the arrival of the first crews, the fire was manifesting with open flames and large smoke emissions, affecting an area of approximately 150 square meters. ISU representatives announced that the intervention was swift, considering the scale of the fire.
Additional details about the causes of the fire and any potential victims have not yet been communicated. Firefighters continue to monitor the area to prevent the spread of the fire.
