On Wednesday morning, a violent fire broke out at a polystyrene factory in Arad, affecting an area of 1,500 square meters in the yard of the facility, where large quantities of polystyrene and raw materials were stored. Firefighters from ISU Arad intervened for approximately two hours to extinguish the flames, without recording any casualties. Witnesses described the rapid spread of the fire, which was accompanied by large smoke emissions, prompting authorities to issue a warning message through the Ro-Alert system for nearby residents. Fire crews from Arad and Timiș, including fire trucks and rescue equipment, responded to the scene. Although the fire has been extinguished, the causes of its outbreak are still under investigation, and the Environmental Guard has launched an inquiry due to air pollution.
