Daniel Funeriu, former Minister of Education, contests the effectiveness of banning children's access to social networks and proposes that the European Union should require social media platforms to introduce, every 5 minutes of content playback, 30 seconds of educational materials tailored to the user's age. He emphasizes that the younger generation has been more attracted to entertainment than to knowledge, which has led to a decline in intelligence compared to previous generations.

Funeriu compares the impact of the internet to that of Gutenberg's printing press, warning that without educational use of the internet, society risks intellectual decline. In this context, Raed Arafat has supported the need to limit children's access to social networks, while Minister Cătălin Predoiu argued that banning does not prepare children for reality, but makes them more vulnerable.
