Publivol Creativ SA, responsible for Metropola TV, has appointed a new general director, Dan Cristian Popescu, a PSD general councilor and former candidate for the Sector 2 Mayor. Popescu will also coordinate the radio station Sport Total FM, with a one-year mandate to improve the audience and the economic situation of the television. He announced that there will be no hiring or layoffs and that he will introduce a second news bulletin to diversify the programming.
Popescu has a varied political career, having been a PSD deputy and vice mayor of Sector 2, and currently owns several properties and has reported significant income from rents and dividends. Publivol Creativ SA, which has recorded constant losses, reported a loss of 6.5 million lei in 2024. Popescu aims to reduce dependence on public funding and identify new sources of income to ensure the company's sustainability. Although the financial situation is not optimal, Popescu believes that the debts are manageable.
