Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan announced that the Dacia and Ford plants have temporarily halted production starting today, and will carry out maintenance work until August 19, in the context of voluntary measures to reduce energy consumption during peak hours. The measure is expected to contribute to a reduction in consumption of approximately 200 MW.

During a press conference, Bolojan emphasized that, following discussions with major energy consumers, companies have agreed to implement measures to reduce consumption, especially in the evening hours when demand is higher. According to the Prime Minister, some companies have already begun maintenance and repair work to contribute to this energy saving.

Ilie Bolojan also mentioned that other companies will follow the example of Dacia and Ford in this initiative.
