The section for judges of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) announced on Friday that it will notify the Judicial Inspection to carry out checks regarding a press material broadcast by Recorder.

The reformist magistrates within the CSM believe that the Judicial Inspection is used as an instrument of terror and intimidation, being controlled by Lia Savonea, the president of the High Court. In a previous reaction, the section for judges defended Savonea, accusing journalists of a well-established plan to destabilize the judiciary. These events highlight the tensions between judges and the media, as well as the controversies related to the independence of justice in Romania.
