The Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) issued a negative opinion for the draft law initiated by the Bolojan Government regarding the special pensions of magistrates. The Vice President of CSM, Claudiu Sandu, explained that the negative opinion was a natural reaction to the concerns expressed by magistrates. Although the participation of the Minister of Justice in the meeting was interpreted as a possible source of conflict, Sandu emphasized that there is no such conflict. The magistrates intend to propose their own draft law, considering that the negative opinion reflects the will of their colleagues in the system.

"Magistrates are citizens like any others. They have never had a problem with retiring at 65 years old, although you should ask yourselves, as a citizen, if you would like to be judged by a 65-year-old judge," Sandu said.
