The section for judges of the Superior Council of Magistracy (CSM) condemned the repeated attacks against the High Court of Cassation and Justice (ÎCCJ), stating that they are orchestrated by representatives of the political class and NGOs, aiming to manipulate public opinion. CSM considers that these criticisms constitute an unprecedented escalation of the campaign against the judicial system, affecting public trust in justice and undermining its independence.

Judges from CSM emphasize that if the legislative authority had acted promptly after the decisions of the Constitutional Court, many of the current issues related to the statute of limitations for criminal liability would have been avoided. In this context, CSM reaffirms its support for ÎCCJ, warning that undermining justice can lead to the disappearance of the rule of law. Five NGOs are planning a protest against the president of ÎCCJ, accusing her of decisions that would undermine public trust in justice.
