Cristian Tudor Popescu, during the show 'Good, Romania!' on B1 TV, criticized the speeches of Nicușor Dan, stating that they are completely void and do not express anything relevant. CTP emphasized that, in the context in which PSD and AUR brought down the Bolojan Government through a motion of censure, Nicușor Dan's call for calm is inappropriate, considering that the leu is depreciating significantly.
CTP noted that Nicușor Dan's messages do not reflect the economic reality, stressing the need for a government capable of pulling Romania out of the current crisis. He also suggested that Nicușor Dan may have had a personal agenda in his actions, distancing himself from Ilie Bolojan. CTP concluded that Nicușor Dan was not elected to promote a state of calm, but to combat the influence of PSD and AUR.
"How can he assure us now that everything is under control, life goes on, we are making a pro-Western government, the direction does not change. Is this logic? Is this common sense? Is this honesty? To say something like that, when the leu is going to hell at this moment, our leu is falling into a coma, and the losses just on the stock market and on the leu are already 5 billion euros at this moment, interest rates have skyrocketed, junk is haunting us at the first call at this moment. This is the situation of Romania now," Cristian Tudor Popescu also stated.
