Cristela Georgescu sent a message to Călin Georgescu’s supporters on the night of October 2, 2026, as they continued to stay in tents and under blankets outside the Central Detention Center. Her husband is being held in preventive detention for 30 days in a case in which he is accused, along with Ionel Rusen, of defrauding businessman Răzvan Leu of 1.1 million euros.

In the message published on Facebook, Cristela Georgescu thanked supporters for their backing and urged them not to be overwhelmed by anxiety or by what she considers to be an injustice. She encouraged them to remain united, have faith, and persevere in prayer.

“The fourth night begins. Together,” wrote the wife of the former presidential candidate. She said that the period the family is going through has a purpose and urged those supporting Călin Georgescu to remain strong.

According to information in the case file, Georgescu and Rusen allegedly promised to arrange a financing facility at a foreign bank in exchange for 1.1 million euros. In the coming period, Călin Georgescu is expected to be taken out of the detention center to participate in the digital searches ordered as part of the investigation. The inquiry seeks to establish the circumstances and any resulting damage.
