The authorities in Neamț County have adopted strict measures to protect water resources, in the context of the heatwave and difficulties in water supply in some localities.
Within the County Emergency Situations Committee (CJSU), it was decided to prohibit the use of drinking water for watering lawns, filling swimming pools, and washing yards and cars. The measures were imposed due to high temperatures and increased thermal discomfort, especially in the North - Târgu Neamț area.
Mayors and Local Emergency Situations Committees have been asked to monitor water supply daily and to inform the population that water should be used exclusively for household consumption and for watering animals. In localities with limited reserves, water distribution programs will be introduced, and citizens will be notified 24 hours in advance. The county prefect has called for the responsibility of citizens, emphasizing the importance of the rational use of drinking water.
