On August 10, 2023, the organization 'Corruption Kills' will organize a protest in Victory Square, dedicated to the memory of the victims of the violent intervention in 2018, when gendarmes attacked protesters. With over 400 injured and one death, the demonstration emphasizes the need to resolve the 'August 10' case before the statute of limitations expires in 2026. The case was reopened in 2022, and in 2023 former Gendarmerie chiefs were prosecuted for abuses.
