Recently, a chapel in Bucharest was consecrated, featuring painted on its walls the images of some legionary figures, such as Radu Gyr, Valeriu Gafencu, and Mircea Vulcănescu, condemned for war crimes. The event took place on October 5, in the presence of hierarchs of the Romanian Orthodox Church and representatives of the Catholic Church. The paintings also include recently canonized saints, as well as controversial personalities from Romania's history.

The value of the works was 63,563 lei, with part of the funds coming from the Secretariat of State for Cults. Radu Gyr, a legionary leader, was condemned for activities under the Antonescu regime, while Mircea Vulcănescu was considered a war criminal. The initiative has generated negative reactions from some political leaders and organizations, who believe that glorifying these figures represents a moral collapse. Although the law prohibits extremist speech and the glorification of war criminals, such manifestations continue to occur without appropriate sanctions from the authorities.
