The incident took place at a tram stop in Sector 6 of the capital. The gendarme was assaulted by a man, who was later identified and taken for questioning. He was stabbed several times and received medical attention on the spot, after which he was taken to hospital. Officers are still investigating to establish the exact circumstances of the attack.
