The Institute of Animal Health and Diagnostics has identified the sheep pox virus in five samples from farms in Dobrotești, Teleorman. In response, the authorities summoned the Local Center for Disease Control and decided to immediately kill the infected animals. Protection and surveillance zones have been established, and all farms in the county have been notified to comply with biosecurity measures. The case was reported at European level, given the severity of the disease and the associated economic risks.
