The Competition Council has completed a study on the market for taxi and alternative transport services, recommending a reassessment of the legislation to create a level playing field. Key proposals include removing limitations on taxi licenses, maximum fares and geographical restrictions and encouraging the use of clean vehicles. Adjustments are also suggested for alternative transport, including harmonization of technical criteria and improved IT systems. The Council stresses the importance of transparency and consumer protection in this sector.
