The National Institute of Hydrology warned that on Wednesday there will be a Code Orange of torrential downpours on rivers in six counties, with possible overtopping of the defense levels. A Code Yellow for floods will also be in force until midday on Thursday, targeting areas in Transylvania, Moldova, Banat, Crișana and Dobrogea. The affected rivers include Suceava, Moldova, Bistrița and Jijia, and hydrologists are forecasting intense hydrological phenomena on smaller rivers in the counties of Neamț, Botoșani and Iași.
