The National Company for Road Investments (CNIR) signed, on October 29, 2025, two important contracts in the field of road infrastructure, with a total value of over 10 billion lei. The first contract concerns section 2B Grințieș–Pipirig of the A8 Highway, with a value of 5.97 billion lei, having a length of 31.5 kilometers and an execution period of 54 months. It will include 60 bridges and viaducts, as well as 16 tunnels, most of the works taking place in a complex mountainous area. The second contract, valued at 4.29 billion lei, refers to the Focșani–Brăila Express Road, with a length of 73.5 kilometers and an execution period of 42 months. This road will connect various regions, facilitating the transport of goods and travelers. The director of CNIR, Gabriel Budescu, emphasized the importance of these projects for the development of modern infrastructure and regional connectivity. The works will be gradually opened to traffic as the sections are completed.
