The general director of CNAIR, Cristian Pistol, announced on Tuesday that the constructors for the first 43 km of the Suceava-Siret Express Road have been designated. The association FAR FOUNDATION SRL – AUTOMAGISTRAL PIVDEN SRL – LINCOR TRANS SRL will design and execute lots 1 and 2, with a total value of 3.72 billion lei (excluding VAT). Lot 1, with a length of 18.6 km, has a bid value of 2.09 billion lei, while Lot 2, at 24.45 km, costs 1.63 billion lei. The contracts provide for deadlines of 9 months for design and 24 months for execution. Along the route, 57 structures and 4 road junctions will be built, including parking lots with charging stations for electric vehicles. Pistol emphasized that all contracts must be signed by the end of May 2026, and the works completed by 2030, according to the financing conditions through SAFE. The Suceava-Siret Express Road, with a total length of 55.7 km, will connect the road infrastructure in Romania with that in Ukraine, having both civil and military roles. Of the 16 billion euros allocated through SAFE for Romania, 4.2 billion euros are intended for road infrastructure.
