Claudiu Fusaru, a 25-year-old Romanian lieutenant, has become the youngest flight instructor for NATO fighter pilots at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas. Originally from Vrancea, he trains future pilots from 14 nations, participating in the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training (ENJJPT) program, active since 1981.
Claudiu is the first Romanian to become an instructor immediately after completing his training, thus recognizing his exceptional performance. He has flown various aircraft and has been selected for the transition to the F-16. He emphasizes the importance of international collaboration, stating that although instructors come from different cultures, in flight, everyone communicates the same language. Claudiu believes he has a duty to contribute to the training of the new generation of NATO pilots, leaving a positive legacy.
