Ciprian Ciucu, the general mayor of the Capital, stated that he feels "calm" regarding the corruption case in which he is being investigated, mentioning that there is no recording in which he appears.
He emphasized that the accusations must be proven by prosecutors and that he has never conditioned approvals or taken money from those involved. Ciucu acknowledged that he has been affected by the corruption allegations, considering that he has campaigned against this phenomenon throughout his career. The mayor consulted the criminal file and stated that there are no transcripts that incriminate him.
He also believes that the case will go to court, mentioning that he is only being investigated at present and that his phone is being tapped as part of the legal procedures.
