The Prefect of the Capital, Andrei Nistor, announced that the Control Body of the Ministry of Internal Affairs has been sent to the Bucharest Prefecture to verify the rental contract with RA-APPS, signed for 25,000 lei per month, plus utilities. Nistor emphasized that the received invoices have consistently exceeded 140,000 lei, reaching up to 220,000 lei per month, without the former prefect signing the last addendum.
He explained that, although the law stipulates that the City Hall should provide the Prefecture with a free space, the former prefect decided in 2022 to rent a space, which led to these exorbitant costs. Nistor hopes that the checks will help resolve the issue and allow for the digitalization of the Prefecture, which is blocked due to a lack of budget.
