The Minister of Health, Alexandru Rogobete, stated that the State Sanitary Inspection and the Control Body will check the dental clinic in Bucharest where a two-year-old girl died following intravenous anesthesia. The girl's father claimed that his wife informed the doctor about the child's abnormal tests, but the doctor insisted that they proceed with the intervention. After anesthesia, the girl went into cardiac arrest, and the parents were notified only after an hour.
The clinic communicated that it has successfully performed over 1,700 similar procedures in the last 11 years, without previous incidents. The Ministry of Health will collaborate with the College of Physicians to establish the exact circumstances of the incident. Rogobete emphasized that surgical interventions can have side effects and is awaiting precise data to draw conclusions.
