CFR Călători has finalized contracts with S.C. Electroputere VFU S.A. Pașcani for the modernization of 42 passenger cars, part of a program funded by the National Recovery and Resilience Plan (PNRR).
The project includes 20 second-class cars equipped with facilities for persons with reduced mobility, as well as spaces for transporting bicycles. The modernized cars are equipped with air conditioning systems, Wi-Fi, passenger information systems, and eco-friendly toilets, thus improving the comfort and accessibility of travelers.
The total value of the modernization contracts is 41,857,200 euros, and for maintenance, it is 25,249,455 euros. CFR Călători continues to carry out other contracts for the modernization of cars, targeting a total of 139 cars, thus contributing to a modern and accessible rail transport in Romania.
