The Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Romania (CCIR) and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Samsun (SCCI) signed a protocol on June 11 to stimulate business cooperation between the two countries, within the framework of the Romania–Turkey Economic Forum. The event took place in the presence of the Turkish Ambassador to Bucharest, Özgür Kıvanç Altan. The protocol is part of the project funded by the European Union 'Sustainability Bridge from East to West' and reaffirms a previous Memorandum of Understanding.
CCIR President Mihai Daraban emphasized the importance of the relationship with Turkey, highlighting trade exchanges of over 10 billion euros and the presence of over 20,000 Turkish companies in Romania. Ambassador Altan mentioned the strategic opportunities offered by the partnership between the two countries, while SCCI Vice President Kadir Beytekin stressed the geographical and economic connection between Romania and Turkey, highlighting the importance of the protocol for the development of new trade corridors.
