The Capital City Hall intends to ask the Government to transfer the 'Esplanada' land, located on Unirii Boulevard, to develop a large urban regeneration project. The 45,008 square meter plot has been the target of several previous initiatives, but no project has materialized. The proposed transfer could be discussed at a meeting of the General Council of the Municipality of Bucharest, and once the procedure is finalized, the PMB will organize an international competition for solutions to develop the project, which will include various public functions such as cultural, educational and sports.
