Călin Georgescu, former candidate in the presidential elections in Romania, has been placed under judicial control for another 60 days, following a decision by the Sector 1 Court. He is being tried for statements in which he promoted fascist, legionary, racist, and xenophobic ideas. The decision to maintain judicial control can be contested, and Georgescu has the right to appeal within 48 hours. Accused by the General Prosecutor's Office on July 2, Georgescu faces several restrictions, including the prohibition of leaving the country without the approval of judicial authorities and the prohibition of posting on social media content of a legionary or racist nature.
