The general councilors of the Municipality of Bucharest adopted on Friday a draft resolution that allows for a reduction in heating bills for Bucharest residents, in cases where the supply does not meet contractual parameters.

With 40 favorable votes and 12 abstentions, the project empowers the Bucharest-Ilfov Intercommunity Development Association to update the adjustment diagrams for the supply of thermal energy by the Bucharest Municipal Thermal Energy Company S.A.

The initiators, PSD councilors, emphasize the necessity of these measures in the context of rising prices and decreasing thermal comfort in homes. The project aims to correct the inequalities observed in the supply of thermal agents and ensure that consumers only pay for the energy delivered according to the agreed standards.
