In an operation to combat smuggling, border police attempted to stop a van for checks, but the driver ignored the signals and accelerated. After a brief chase, he stopped, got out of the vehicle, and fled into a nearby field. The police caught him, but the man became violent, biting a police officer's hand, causing an injury that required medical attention. An ambulance crew was requested at the scene for the injured officer, who is now receiving treatment. The inspection of the van revealed the discovery of smuggled goods worth 100,000 euros. In this case, a criminal case was opened for assault.
