Ioana Dogioiu, spokesperson for the Bolojan Government, announced her resignation in a Facebook post, amid the PNL’s decision to enter opposition after the swearing-in of the government led by Luca Niculescu.
In the document sent to the prime minister, Dogioiu requested to be relieved of her position as secretary of state in the Prime Minister’s Chancellery once the current government’s mandate ends. She said she is available to hand over her responsibilities within five days of being relieved of office.
“It was an honor. Thank you, Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan!” Ioana Dogioiu wrote alongside her resignation request.
Her departure is part of a wave of resignations by liberals appointed to public positions through the party. Ilie Bolojan asked them to submit their resignations by the end of the week after the PNL decided to move into opposition.
Cristina Pocora also announced that she is resigning as state adviser in the Prime Minister’s Chancellery. She said she is taking responsibility for the party’s decision through this move. Angelica Fădor announced her resignation as secretary of state in the Ministry of Internal Affairs and said she supports the PNL’s shift into opposition.
