The National Trade Union Bloc (BNS) has expressed concern about a bill supported by 123 parliamentarians from various parties, which would allow privately managed pension funds to invest money from Pillar II in companies in the defense and security sector.
BNS believes that this initiative is an attempt to hide the budget deficit and to use the savings of Romanians to finance the military industry. Trade unionists emphasize that, in the past, Romania has taken on significant loans without real benefits for the economy and that the current government continues a similar policy, approving costly strategic agreements.
Additionally, BNS has given a negative opinion on this project within the Economic and Social Council, highlighting that Romania has purchased military equipment without benefiting from economic compensations. Union leaders are calling for a careful analysis of any initiative aimed at using savings for pensions.
