The National Trade Union Bloc (BNS) has made an official request to Romanian Members of the European Parliament, asking them to support the Danielsson report in the vote in the plenary session of the European Parliament on February 12, 2026. This report, adopted by the Committee on Employment and Social Affairs, addresses the structural issues generated by subcontracting chains and abusive practices in the labor market intermediation, which affect workers' rights and distort competition. BNS emphasizes that these mechanisms contribute to the exploitation of labor and unfair competition, affecting both workers and honest employers.
BNS supports the conclusions of the report, which proposes a European legal framework for preventing abuses, mechanisms for joint liability, minimum standards for labor intermediaries, and strengthening the enforcement of legislation by enhancing the role of the European Labor Authority. The BNS initiative aligns with the efforts of the European trade union movement for a Directive on subcontracting and labor intermediation, which aims to limit subcontracting and prohibit the outsourcing of essential activities. BNS considers it crucial for the European Parliament to send a strong political signal for the protection of workers and to ensure fair working conditions in the European Union.
