Nicușor Dan warns that he will request a re-examination of the Decarbonization Law to protect the funds from the PNRR

President Nicușor Dan announced that he will use all constitutional prerogatives, including the request for re-examination, if the decarbonization law is adopted in the form resulting from the parliamentary committees.

The head of state warns that the amendments approved by the Senate could affect a milestone already closed from the PNRR and could jeopardize the submission of remaining payment requests, risking Romania losing billions of euros in European funds.

In a post on X, Nicușor Dan emphasized that the funds from the PNRR are essential for investments in hospitals, schools, highways, and for reforms that modernize public administration.

He specified that national interest means both energy security and respect for the commitments made by Romania, so that economic stability and access to European funding are maintained.
