CNAB has launched the tender for the modernization of Runway no. 1 of 'Henri Coandă' Airport, with an estimated value of 106 million euros and an execution period of 16 months.

The National Company Bucharest Airports (CNAB) has announced the launch of a public tender for the modernization of Runway No. 1 at 'Henri Coandă' Otopeni Airport, a major project with an estimated value of approximately 106 million euros. The works will last a maximum of 16 months and will include the complete reconstruction of the runway, the construction of 5 new taxiways, the modernization of 2 existing taxiways, the replacement of the lighting systems, and the modernization of the underground cable routes.

The project will be carried out in phases to ensure the continuity of airport operations and access for military aircraft. The deadline for submitting bids is December 18, 2025, and the last major modernization of the runway took place in 1994.
