Metrorex announced on Friday that it is extending access for bicycles and scooters in the metro network from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, on weekdays, as part of a pilot project that will take place from July 15 to September 15.
"Metrorex announces the launch of a pilot project aimed at bicycle and scooter users. From July 15 to September 15, 2026, on weekdays, access with bicycles/scooters in the metro network is allowed from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM, alongside the already established time slots in the regulations, 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM, and permanently on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays," the Metrorex statement shows.
Metrorex emphasized that access for bicycles and scooters is only allowed in the designated area, specifically in the first carriage, at the back of the driver's cabin.
Users are required to use the first access door in the direction of travel and must ensure the correct positioning of the vehicles so as not to affect the safety and comfort of other passengers.
Access for bicycles used for commercial deliveries or equipped with accessories that exceed the dimensions of a regular bicycle is not allowed.
The pilot project aims to encourage the use of the metro and bicycles, promoting sustainable urban mobility.
