Bear spotted in Baia Mare: the authorities issued a RO-Alert message to warn the population

On Sunday, the presence of a bear was reported in the municipality of Baia Mare, in the Valea Usturoiului area, known as "Izvor". The authorities were informed through a call to the emergency number 112, and the Maramureș prefecture announced that a team of gendarmes was dispatched to the scene for verification.

The Inspectorate for Emergency Situations "Gheorghe Pop de Băsești" issued a RO-Alert message to warn the population about the presence of the wild animal. Additionally, a medical emergency team EPA-SMURD was sent to the area.

The authorities recommend that people nearby keep their distance from the bear, not to attempt to feed it or approach it for photographs, in order to avoid any dangerous situations.
