Former president Traian Băsescu spoke about Elena Udrea during a TV show, stating that she would have had a remarkable political career if she had not had legal issues. Băsescu mentioned that he was not aware of the accusations against Elena Udrea, which arose after the end of his term in 2014. Udrea was conditionally released after three years and ten months in prison in the Gala Bute case, having a complicated history with the judiciary, including a flight abroad and annulled convictions.
