During the meeting on April 1, the local councilors of Bacău municipality voted to ban the operation of gambling activities in physical locations, adopting a resolution in accordance with the new legal provisions. Out of the 22 councilors present, 19 voted in favor of the ban. The resolution stipulates that no gambling activities will be allowed to operate in physical locations within the municipality, and any requests from operators will be rejected.
Mayor Lucian Daniel Stanciu-Viziteu stated that this is an important achievement for the community, emphasizing the desire to ensure a healthy future for Bacău. Existing locations will gradually close as their licenses expire, and those who continue operations after expiration will be fined between 4,000 and 5,000 lei. This decision follows the example of the city of Slatina, which has already banned gambling.
