Alin Iacob, president of the Association of Romanian Users of Financial Services, criticized the Financial Supervisory Authority for rejecting the AURSF's proposals regarding the draft private pensions law. The draft covers all categories of private pensions and provides for forms of payment such as programmed withdrawal and lifetime pension. Iacob points out that the average pension account is worth around 50,000 lei and that European trends should influence national legislation. He also thinks it would be inappropriate to double the minimum payment period for private pensions from 5 to 10 years.
