Senator AUR Petrișor Peiu criticized the government led by Ilie Bolojan for wasting public money and politicizing administrative expenses. He cited as an example a contract from the Ministry of Environment, which hired a consortium of private firms to draft a strategy on biodiversity, even though the ministry has a specialized directorate. Peiu argues that the ministry's employees are more qualified than private firms to develop such a document. The senator stated that the strategy was later submitted as a draft law by deputy Diana Buzoianu, the interim Minister of Environment, raising questions about the legality and appropriateness of the expenditures. He requested explanations from the government and the Court of Accounts, but did not present additional evidence for his accusations. So far, the targeted institutions have not provided a public response.
