The AUR protest started from the Palace of Parliament and continued to Victory Square, where demonstrators managed to enter the protest area, initially blocked by police. George Simion said that the aim of the protest was to defend democracy and reject the abuses of the current government, calling for early elections and an end to political dossiers. He urged Romanians to refuse to support a government they consider illegitimate, noting that similar protests are taking place in 40 cities across the country.
