Petrișor Peiu, AUR leader, admitted that he voted against some national security laws without reading them.

Petrișor Peiu, an important leader of AUR, stated on Antena 3 CNN that he voted against some essential laws for national security without reading the respective texts. These laws include the 'drone law', which allows the army to intercept and shoot down drones that illegally enter Romanian airspace, as well as the request from the United States to use the Mihail Kogălniceanu base in the context of the conflict with Iran.

Peiu admitted that he was wrong, stating: "If I had read that text, I would have voted FOR, and many other colleagues would have done the same." He emphasized that he relied on the information provided by other members of the Defense committees and that he was not ashamed to admit that he was not sufficiently informed. He also mentioned that the situation repeated itself in the case of the request for logistical support from the USA, acknowledging that he did not have time to read the documents.
