AUR Deputy Petru-Gabriel Negrea was detained at the border by Ukrainian authorities and was banned from entering this country.

The AUR deputy, Petru-Gabriel Negrea, has been declared 'an enemy of the Ukrainian people' and has been banned from entering Ukraine after being detained at the border. Negrea claims he was subjected to degrading conditions, being forced to undress for a body search in an unheated metal container, in extreme temperature conditions.

He was physically pushed back into Romania, an act he considered humiliating. Negrea emphasized that this action comes in the context of his public positions defending the rights of Romanians in Ukraine, including national identity and education in the Romanian language. He criticized Romania's double standards, which financially supports Ukraine while neglecting Romanians in Ukraine. Negrea believes this situation is absurd and incompatible with democratic values.
