The Alliance for the Unity of Romanians (AUR) has challenged before the Constitutional Court the amendments to the Law on Physical Education and Sport adopted by the Chamber of Deputies. AUR claims that these amendments are unconstitutional, in violation of the principle of bicameralism, as they were adopted without debate in the first Chamber. The party believes that the new law favors only higher education institutions and paves the way for political and economic influences in sport, jeopardizing transparency and fairness in support of Romanian sport.
